Motor Industry Anecdotes
Today's speaker was Don Metcalfe who spoke about his experiences in the motor industry.
He described how he started in 1947 with Halifax Corporation by making the tea for 38 shillings a week. He went to technical college and then over the years he recalled many often humorous incidents involving for example the Mayor's car, making safe a bullet, toilet tub wagons and many more including an incident with a David Brown tractor. He also used his skills to attain corporal during his national service time in 1954.
Don had a style of delivery that was enjoyed by members.
