Probus Club of Meltham

Sheila Lum gave a talk on the Great Wall of China. Although born
and brought up in the South of England (Surrey the county that embraced
Yorkshireman Jim Laker), Sheila has spent many years in Yorkshire. She worked
for Ordinance Survey in Surrey for some years which gave her an understanding
of maps. She married a Hong Kong Chinese man in England and made many
visits to mainland China although her marriage ended after eight years. Her
talk, which included information about many parts of the different Walls of
China, was unfortunately marred somewhat by map and pictures that were
difficult to decipher.
