Today’s speaker waa Norman Hodgkin ‘Bletchley Park Part 2’. This was a detailed and
well researched presentation by Norman about the detail of how the Enigma and the Bombe
were operated as well as some background on the personalities involved.
The operation necessitated the use of different combinations of cogs and wheels looking
somewhat like an old fashioned telephone exchange.
The need for constant updating of codes and machines continued throuhout the second
world war as it does today.
There were plenty of questions at the end of Norman’s talk and members had clearly appreciated the presentation.
