The Secret Life of Agatha Christie
Pat Osborne
Today's speaker was Pat Osborne who spoke about Agatha Christie.
She described how Agatha enjoyed a happy childhood in Torquay and was described as clever but shy. She taught herself to read and write and went for 3 years to a finishing school in France.
Her many books and experiences portrayed an often stressful life from the 1920s to her death, having sold an estimated 4 billion books. She was described in the 60s as going "yonderley" and many questions about her life were only answered via her biography after she died.
